eDrop-Off Grand Opening Event

Wednesday, July 21, 2010:

What do you do when last season's Chanel bag needs an update, but cash is a bit tight? Before you open a lemonade stand and hope for the best, why not give eDrop-Off a try! Last Wednesday, I was excited to attend the Grand Opening event for the new location of "Chicago’s premier independent eBay drop-off store", eDrop-Off, and mingle with some of my favorite people. The interior of the new space, located at 2117 N. Halsted, is gorgeous. Floor to ceiling windows and chic interior details made me feel like I was in a hip loft party. Even the back work areas were beautiful (especially owner, Corri Mcfadden's amazing office that I want to work in every day). I had received the invitation from friend and Factio Magazine editor-in-chief, Melissa Maynard De Kerch, and I was thrilled to see her when I arrived and catch up. Many industry friends were in attendance, including the fabulous Jenny Berg (Bureau Chief, BizBash Media), my new friend Emily Hopp (PR/Special Events, Neiman Marcus), and the gorgeous Julie Selakovich (Director of Marketing, Saks Fifth Avenue) who I spotted across the room, but didn't get to say hello to. (Hello, Julie!) After exploring the space and taking full advantage of the photo booth with my date Paige Peterson, we were off with swag bags in hand. Another great event, and a stunning new store. But, don't take my word for it... Clean out those closets, collect your designer duds, and head over to eDrop-Off and let the helpful (and really good looking) staff take care of you. Just make sure you don't leave your lemonade stand unattended.

TBM + DVF = LOVE

Happy Sunday afternoon!

So, I am a (huge) fan of DVF on Facebook and I was looking through the photos albums posted on her site and came across something exciting...

Last Thursday, November 5, 2009 I attended the runway show at Neiman Marcus to view the DVF Cruise/Pre-Spring 09/10 Collection. Well, not only was the show fantastic, but as many of you may have seen, I got to meet the fashion legend herself--the amazing Diane von Furstenberg. If you become a fan of her Facebook page you can view the albums as well, and if you look closely, you will find me photographed sitting front row at the show! (I'm glad I wore blue that day, rather than black--I stick out like a sore thumb!) Have a look for yourself:

DVF Cruise/Pre-Spring 09/10 Fashion Show at Neiman Marcus

A handsome mix of industry was out last night to meet the one and only, Diane von Furstenberg. Beginning at 6p.m., the crowd mingled and sipped cocktails on the third floor of one of Chicago's retail landmarks, Neiman Marcus. DVF politely took photos with the crowd and talked with the guests before the show. She was incredibly engaging and welcoming and was so glad to see so many beautiful Chicagoans show up to support her legendary brand. I had the honor of joining Barbara Glass at the event and was pretty ecstatic to learn that we were sitting front row! Another great event and another dream come true. Check out some of the fantastic looks she delivered, and the gorgeous crowd that came out.

A special hello goes out to the adorable 14 year old girl who was escorted to the show by the charming David Sanchez of Chosen Management. She asked to take a photo with me and was so excited to be at her very first fashion show. A Diane von Furstenberg show at 14? Now, that's exciting!
